day 59

FebuANY foot-long for $5!  I think we split a foot-long for dinner at least 8 times this month.  It was perfect!  Light dinner so I didn't feel sick afterward and it meant I didn't have to cook!  Tonight was the last night of FebuANY so of course my husband was kind enough to stand behind the 20 other people in line and bring one home to me.

day 58

I think I'm the worst wife ever!  I wanted a warm, homemade chocolate chip cookie SO BAD today.  I just didn't have it in me to get up and make them.  I made the mistake of saying out loud, "I would even take frozen Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Dough (it's at Costco as you know)".  My husband being the BEST HUSBAND IN THE WHOLE WORLD said without hesitation "I'd be happy to go get you some."  He says that to me all the time.  I should have known not to say something out loud like that.  It's SUNDAY for heaven's sake.  I can't ask you to break the Sabbath for me.  Guess what... HE DID!  He went to Costco and bought a box of Ottis Spunkmeyer cookie dough for me and we ate several!  Here's our little cookie face photo shoot

day 56

YES!  I'm really trying, and tonight I was able to see that my efforts were working.  It's not often, I hear the words, "Oh good we were able to keep our credit card balance low again this month."  It's hard.  I'm a sucker for cute clothes for my kids.  They're everywhere.  I think it helps that I have so little time to get to the stores these days.

day 55

Not terribly creative, nor do I even like these images.  But it's the picture I took for the day, so here it goes.... I felt like eating fruit.  I went to the grocery store yesterday while Sky was at Up With Kids and stocked up on oranges, grapes, apples and strawberries.  So, while this made me happy when I was eating it, I soon felt nauseous after.  I just can't seem to eat fruit in the morning just yet without it making me feel blah.

day 54

Just as I pulled out of my driveway, to run over to the store for something I needed to make for dinner, I saw this.  It absolutely caught my eye.  I stopped the car, ran into get my camera so I could take a couple.  In and out of focus... neither does it justice.  I didn't edit these pictures at all.  These are SOOC.  I always love when the moon is big and bright!

day 53

Okay so I'm skipping a few days... to post this today.  I felt the need to post this immediately cause I love it.  It's SO how it is.
I am working on a project to give my mother in law for Christmas.  It's going to take the whole year to pull it off.  There are 9 kids and their families I need to get pictures of to be able to pull this off and not everyone lives here.  One of the nine family's live in California and they were in town and about to fly out.  I met them at their friends house so I could get the pictures I needed of them.  I threw my kids in the car and headed up to Salt Lake.  They just had to hang out while I got it done.  As I was packing up my stuff in the back of the van, Brooke was leaning over the seat and said, "Take a picture of me mom."  My favorite words OF COURSE!  I quickly took the lens cap off and pointed it in her direction.  I got the first image.  Not perfect, not enough time to get my settings right and get a great image.   She does this to me... let's me take ONE and she's done.  That's it, that's all I get!  I usually go for it and then end up begging, "PLEASE... just one more for me!"  She's done.  She's moved onto the silly faces.  So here they are... the first one (I wasn't ready), the second because I kept snapping anyway (and I caught something I ABSOLUTELY LOVE) and the third when I begged for one more, I got that silly face I told you about.

day 52

It's Presidents Day!  The kids are out of school.  Doesn't mean I got to sleep in, but it does mean we got to move slower this morning and hang out in jammies a little longer.  We had some fun planned.  We had family in town spending the week up in Park City and we were invited to come up, have pizza and swim in their hotel pool.  When announcing to the kids, the plan... "first we're going to go to the gym, then we'll come home have lunch and mom needs to make a treat to take to Park City, then we'll get our stuff packed up and head up there"  Jett, said, "but what are we doing to celebrate Presidents Day?"  Funny kid.  He obviously had been talking about it in school all last week.  I asked him what he had in mind?  He ran and got his picture out of his school bag and held it up.  He said, "Maybe we can dress up like George Washington?"  Uh... NAH.  How about you just hold your picture up in front of your face and pretend to be him?  He chuckled and cause he's a boy, quickly moved on from his idea.

day 48

Sky had a friend over after school.  This was a first for her.  There aren't any kids terribly close to us.  And it doesn't help that we choose to drive to a different school than most of the other kids in our ward.  So, it's never happened before that a friend came over after school to play.  Am I the worst mom ever?  They had a blast together and I hope this is just the beginning to our little friend coming over to play.  I have a cute picture of them hanging out... BUT  after the comment that came from my little Brooke, I had to post a picture of this.  They were outside riding their big wheels.  I sat just inside watching them, and they weren't getting along all too well.  Jett kept bumping into Brookes front wheel and she'd try and get him back, but he'd turn his wheel and avoid her.  She came in the house, SO UPSET.  I sat her up on the counter and looked her over.  I asked her if she was okay?  She insisted that she wasn't.  I said to her, "he didn't hurt you did he?"  She then said in the sweetest voice, "he hurt my heart."

day 47

It was one heck of a windy day.  All day I've kept my fingers crossed that we don't lose the power.  That's never fun.  On my way to pick up Sky, I saw a fence covered in paper that had blown up against it.  It was stuck there as the wind kept going and going.  I thought that would be my picture of the day, but I thought of something more fun.  I didn't have time this morning to braid Sky's hair.  I was so mad cause I KNEW it would be windy and I didn't want it down to get all tangled and be in her face.  But because I didn't braid it, I watched her run to the car with her hair blowing all over.  It was cute.  I brought her home and asked if I could get a picture of it blowing... she was up for it.

day 45

It's moments like this that I like to remember.  Sky's Valentines Party happened to be at a time when I could go.  So, we dropped Jett off at preschool with his box of sodas and headed over to Sky's school.  We were able to just hang out and watch the kids play their games.  Sky was so excited to have her little sister there and was so cute about asking if she could participate in the activities.  She made sure that when everyone had gotten a turn that her sister could go.  I sat back and watched taking plenty of pictures!  Here's what I mean by moments to remember...

All boxed up and ready for tomorrow's Valentines Party.

day 43

Another great friend of mine and they're building their dream home.  I'm so glad she thought to get pictures when the house was all framed in.  It's definitely a special time for their family and what a fun way to remember it.  Isn't she cute putting her girls in hard hats and overalls?

day 42

I had the chance today to go take a few family pictures for my sister in law.  She has become a near and dear friend of mine.  She's someone I'd like to be more like.  She really goes out of her way to show her appreciation and is so kind and sweet.  She has three little girls and I love them like my own.  I couldn't help but take a few of the two girls while mom was still trying to get the baby out of the car.  Look at these sisters.  I'm sure they'll be great friends when they're older too!

day 41

Not my favorite post, because it's kind of a lame picture, but so significant to me.  It's week 9 and I couldn't pull my belt as tight as normal.  I had to let it out a notch.  Let the belly begin to grow!

day 40

Today, I felt terrible about missing out on an incredible opportunity to spend time and learn from Jess Bishop and her husband, but I had my first doctors appointment.  I got to hear the baby's heartbeat and it made it all worth it.
My son is incredibly interested in ANYTHING going on with the baby.  He likes to see the pictures at the different stages and know how big the baby is.  So when I got home from the doctors office, he inquired about everything that happened.  I explained to him how I got to hear the babies heartbeat.  He ran over and got over the play doctors kit and telling Brooke how lie down so he could hear her heart.  It was the cutest thing ever.  He was full of questions like always!  I didn't get my camera out fast enough, but you get the idea!  I love my kiddos and can't wait for #4!!!!

day 39

Today Suzanne and I grabbed our kids and headed downtown.  We found an idea we wanted to do for Valentines Day this year and we were short on time.  It didn't turn out as great as either of us had hoped.  Had there been more time to think it through, it could have been better executed!  We're both incredibly insane perfectionists.  I think we talked about what we "could have done" more than we should have.  It will still be cute and the kids are just kids for heavens sake!  So here it is... the beginning to their Valentines.  Later, these will be tied onto bottles of Strawberry Crush, so you understand the idea.

day 38

I do not sell Mary Kay, I signed up to be a Mary Kay rep solely so I could get it for myself at Mary Kay rep price (50% off the suggested retail).  In the end it makes it cheaper than getting my make up from Walmart!  I order my years supply of make up at the first of the year and it's fabulous.  I spend the same amount each year and I've got it down to a science, what I'll use and what I love.  It's fabulous.  Although I don't sell it, I do HIGHLY recommend it.  They have great products that really work well!
I really needed a pick me up today, not much got me off the couch I was so sick.  It was nice to see this box on my front porch!

day 37

Who did you cheer for?

Saturday, February 5, 2011

day 36

A little preparation for tomorrow's Superbowl Party.  Not that I'm really cheering for any particular team, I just wanted to make it a little more fun by making the team colored cupcakes.  So, green and yellow for Greenbay Packers and black and yellow for Pittsburg Steelers.  The girls and I had fun making them while dad was off on his father/son date skating at Classic.

day 35

I'm not going to lie... I didn't take a picture today!
I don't even have an excuse, cause today was the best I've felt in weeks.  I even made it to the gym for the first time in three weeks.  So sorry, this may happen from time to time.  My goal is just to finish this 365 and so far... not to shabby for my standard.

day 34

We've been trying to get together for weeks.  First their family got hit with influenza and were out for a couple of weeks and then Brooke got hit with it for a good week.  SO, today was the day!  These are friends of ours who we met when our oldest girls went to preschool together.  It turned out that they had three kids just like us and all within two weeks in age of my three.  We were bound to be friends!  So off we went after school to go play at their house.  I, of course, brought my camera (see...) but FAILED miserably to get it out while we were there!  We were all having too much fun and so it sat in my purse!  LAME!

day 33

What the heck is all that pounding?  I was up in the shower and could hear nothing but loud bangs.  Can't I just shower and not have to come running out in a towel to chaos just once in my life?

It was this... and several pictures to give you the idea.  His response to me was, "I can only do it when you're not looking."  My response, "Did you not think I would HEAR you and wonder what you were doing?"  Hmmmm... guess not.  In any case, I figured I'd be the nice mom for once and let them keep at it.  They were having way too much fun, and heck, it's just furniture!

day 32

My oldest preparing for her 100 day of school project.  It's the 100th day tomorrow.  Completely her idea... she loves to write me little love notes so of course this was nothing other than I heart you.  Even the sweatshirt she wore today had hearts all over it.  You can see them on her sleeve.  I love her!
